Pattern: Bernard the Velvet Teddy Bear

Happy first day of March! I was actually planning to put this pattern up earlier around Valentine’s Day, so you may see hints of that idea with the color scheme I chose. Unfortunately, I just happened to get sick with the flu at that time! I had absolutely no energy so I had to delay finishing this cute little guy until now. Allow me to introduce to you guys Bernard the velvet teddy bear! Bernard is a very charming bear who loves dark chocolate and gardening on his free time. He has an assortment of bow ties, but his favorite is his dark brown one since it matches his nose! His pattern is simple and making him with velvet yarn gives him that extra plush and fuzzy feeling.

This was my first time crocheting anything with velvet yarn and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Sometimes I want to make certain amigurumi dolls have more of a plush feel and using velvet yarn does the trick. I think it’s a great alternative to eye lash yarn if you’re like me and always have trouble crocheting into the right stitch! Pattern: Rod the Rat

My first pattern for this blog is finally here! In celebration of Chinese New Year, I wanted to crochet a cute little rat to get into the spirit. Rod the rat is named after my favorite mouse villager in Animal Crossing. His hobbies are eating provolone cheese and watching detective movies. With his big round ears and long pink tail, he will definitely be the perfect buddy for mouse and rat lovers to have by their side!
