Pattern: Flurry from Animal Crossing

IMG_20200316_115144_098.jpg

I’m back at it again with another free pattern! For any Animal Crossing fans, you know that New Horizons will be available in just three days! Animal Crossing has always been one of my favorite games because it’s stress free and you can be friends with all the cute animal villagers. One of my all time favorite villagers is Flurry the hamster. She’s so sweet and I’m really hoping she will move in on my island (I try not to soft-reset so I can villagers I like from the start but…) when I get the game. Well, even though there’s a chance she might not move in immediately to my future island, at least I will always have a cute amigurumi version of her by my side! I’m really happy with how this pattern turned out, especially her little shirt because there was a lot of yarn switching in just one row. It was totally worth it though since she looks absolutely adorable. Also before moving onto the pattern, I would like to make a shout out to my mom for having the right pink blush color so I could use it for her inner ears 🙂

Pattern: Bernard the Velvet Teddy Bear

20200301_121322.jpg

Happy first day of March! I was actually planning to put this pattern up earlier around Valentine’s Day, so you may see hints of that idea with the color scheme I chose. Unfortunately, I just happened to get sick with the flu at that time! I had absolutely no energy so I had to delay finishing this cute little guy until now. Allow me to introduce to you guys Bernard the velvet teddy bear! Bernard is a very charming bear who loves dark chocolate and gardening on his free time. He has an assortment of bow ties, but his favorite is his dark brown one since it matches his nose! His pattern is simple and making him with velvet yarn gives him that extra plush and fuzzy feeling.

This was my first time crocheting anything with velvet yarn and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Sometimes I want to make certain amigurumi dolls have more of a plush feel and using velvet yarn does the trick. I think it’s a great alternative to eye lash yarn if you’re like me and always have trouble crocheting into the right stitch! I used Bernat Velvet Yarn in Quiet Pink and White Sand which you can find HERE.

Pattern: Rod the Rat

IMG_20200118_134248.jpg

My first pattern for this blog is finally here! In celebration of Chinese New Year, I wanted to crochet a cute little rat to get into the spirit. Rod the rat is named after my favorite mouse villager in Animal Crossing. His hobbies are eating provolone cheese and watching detective movies. With his big round ears and long pink tail, he will definitely be the perfect buddy for mouse and rat lovers to have by their side!
